Welcome to the 2011/2012 Season

   As the 2011-2012 season is now underway with our Dryland training program having started in early September and a summer of planning for this upcoming season behind us, we look to continue to build on some of last season’s successes.
   The 2010-2011 season was yet another successful winter for Vorlage Race Club. In building on previous season’s successes, we continued to see our athletes excel on both the regional and provincial level:

• The Nancy Greene Program hosted the first ever Vorlage NG Festival where the athletes were exposed to a large variety of drills, challenges and courses. The travelling race group represented the club well finishing in second place at each race! We stress the importance of a fun-filled athlete centred learning environment for our youngest athletes and we look to deliver yet another great winter for the NG athletes!
• The I2 program sent 17 athletes to compete in the Provincial Regroupement event at Le Relais and had some athletes reach the podium at the Provincial level! At the local level, Sophie took home Top Female Athlete of the year and Eric was the top first year Male Athlete! The I2 group brought home all kinds of hardware all season long with Eric, Nathan and Graeme finishing in the Top 8 Overall for the boys and Sophie and Danielle in the Top 6 Overall for the Girls!
• Our K1 athletes were again some of the speediest in the region. Damon, Cal and Trevor battled it out for podium spots all season long for the boys and Abby finishing second Overall for the Ladies. We also had 5 athletes represent Vorlage and the Outaouais region at the Jeux Du Quebec at Mont Blanc in February.
• The K2 athletes did an excellent job again this season with Tyler finishing as the Top First Year K2 Male in the region and Erin as the Second Overall Female. Tyler, Erin and Martine all represented the club and the Outaouais region at the K2 Provincial Championships with strong results. We proved again this year that the Vorlage K2s know how to go fast – with Eric, Tyler, Erin and Martine all getting on the podium at the Art Tommy Memorial Speed Events.
• The Juniors competed hard on the Quebec Junior Provincial Circuit all season long and was highlighted by Victoria’s 2nd and 5th places at the Tremblant CJP Races in February. We had 6 of the top 12 boys for the Overall Outaouais Standings and 3 girls in the top 10 Overall.
• Our Alumni continued their successes with Graham Scott competing as a member of the Quebec Provincial Team last season. The Mott brothers also continue to race fast with Troy studying and racing for Sierra Nevada College and younger brother Ian now racing and attending Rocky Mountain College in Montana.
